What’s the Best Time of Year to Buy an Electric Bike

Thinking about switching to an electric bike but not sure when to pull the trigger? Timing your purchase right can save you money, get you better deals, and even mean a shorter wait for delivery. Here’s a season-by-season breakdown to help you decide when to buy your e-bike in Pakistan.

Winter (December–February): Often the Best Deals

Winter tends to be the slowest season for two-wheeler sales in Pakistan. Cold mornings and shorter days mean fewer people are shopping for bikes, which works in your favor as a buyer.

  • Dealers offer discounts to keep sales moving during the slow season.
  • Year-end clearance sales in December often include electric bikes, as showrooms make room for new stock and new-year models.
  • Less demand means better negotiating power — you’re more likely to get accessories, free servicing, or extended warranties thrown in.

The only downside: if you’re buying purely for the riding experience, cold mornings aren’t the most fun time to test ride or start using a new bike daily.

Spring (March–April): Good Balance of Weather and Availability

Spring is a great middle ground. The weather is pleasant for riding and testing bikes properly before you buy, and dealers are usually well-stocked after replenishing winter clearance inventory.

This is a smart time to buy if you want to actually enjoy the first few weeks with your new e-bike without dealing with extreme heat or rain.

Summer (May–August): Watch for Monsoon and Eid Promotions

Summer in most of Pakistan gets too hot for comfortable daily riding, especially through May and June, so overall two-wheeler demand often dips — which can again translate into promotional pricing.

Keep an eye out for:

  • Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha promotions, when many retailers (including electric bike sellers) run special offers, bundle deals, or installment plans to capture festive spending.
  • Monsoon season (July–August) can slow down showroom footfall, so some dealers offer discounts to keep sales steady.

If you buy in summer, plan to ride during cooler early morning or evening hours until temperatures drop.

Autumn (September–November): Peak Demand, Fewer Discounts

As the weather cools down, riding season picks up and so does demand. This is typically when electric bikes sell the most, since commuting and weekend riding become more comfortable again.

  • Expect less flexibility on pricing since dealers don’t need to discount as heavily.
  • New model launches often happen around this time, so if you want the latest features, this is when to look — but be ready to pay closer to full price.
  • Better test-riding weather means you can properly evaluate range, comfort, and handling before committing.

Other Factors That Matter More Than Season

While seasonal timing helps, a few other things can matter even more when deciding when to buy:

  1. New model release cycles — Buying just before a new model launches can mean discounts on outgoing stock, but buying right after a launch gets you the newest tech.
  2. Fuel price hikes — Whenever petrol prices rise sharply, demand for electric bikes tends to spike, sometimes leading to longer wait times and less negotiating room. Buying ahead of an anticipated price hike can work in your favor.
  3. Currency and import costs — Since many e-bike components are imported, currency fluctuations can affect pricing. Keeping an eye on economic news can help you time a purchase before a potential price increase.
  4. End-of-month or end-of-quarter sales targets — Dealers sometimes offer better deals near the end of the month or a sales quarter to hit targets, regardless of season.

Our Recommendation

If your main priority is price, aim for winter clearance sales or monsoon season promotions.

If your main priority is selection and the latest models, autumn is your best bet, right as the new riding season begins.

If you want a balance of good weather, decent stock, and fair pricing, spring is hard to beat.

Whenever you decide to buy, it’s worth checking with your local MetroEV showroom for current promotions, installment plans, and upcoming model launches — sometimes the best deal has less to do with the season and more to do with what’s happening in-store that particular week.
